Do you ever get the feeling that Tea Party Republicans see the phrase “Ignorance Is Bliss” as a Mission Statement?

MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell explains why the former governor of Alaska is running for the spotlight, not the White House. (Video)

I have to say that nights like tonight give me some hope that the media is listening. (At least MSNBC) I had tweeted them today that I was really tired of people not making a big deal out of this Palin run or not run and that I am disappointed that no one calls her out on this and other things. (Now, I'm delusional enough to think that Lawrence did this story just for me:)  Lawrence spent quite a bit of time on this tonight and also made me think about other reasons for the whole bus tour, movie, etc. Of course we all know that she needs the attention but I am convinced that the Koch Brothers are also behind this. Paying Palin to invoke the same anger, hate and racism that she did during 2008. Palin gets the attention she craves as well as paid for doing what she likes best, angering the mob!  Lawrence's take on Palin is quite good and I hope that he is spot on! Knowing Palin, she would run now just to spite Lawrence and a HUGE part of me is afraid she will run but I hope Lawrence is right in his prediction about this!  -Mem  (video)

  1. Now, can you get MSNBC to take on Sean Hannity? Last night he was pushing (again) the idea that the left hates strong conservative women. The proof this time? Ed Schultz's name calling of Laura Ingraham, which generated an apology from him after he was suspended for telling the truth. The women on the panel are appalled that this goes on all the time..."this shows the meanness of the liberals, their hatred of women....blah, blah, blah. Look how they treat Sarah and Laura...blah,  blah, blah..." Sean said he was satisfied with Ed's apology, but then had some  moron on after to keep pushing the idea...this guy wanted to impress those on the left with the idea that they can't call people names and get away with it.
WTF? That's all the right does, and I was about to throw something soft at my TV. These poor con women...all they do is call names and worse, and never, ever, ever, have I heard an apology from Palin, Ingraham, Malkin, Bachmann, Angle...never. Once. The men are no better. They lie about the President, Hillary, and all of us, get called on it and the response. "I think you're wrong."
I know it wouldn't help to see them called out on MSNBC, but it would make me feel better!

  2. Sally you are much stronger then me.  I cannot force myself to turn on faux for any reason.  I have gotten to the point where I cannot even watch a video that someone post of those asshats talking.  You are absolutely right.  They have invoked hate, racism and anger towards the left.  They have lied on a minute by minute basis and then deny.  They have called Hillary, Nancy Pelosi and other democrat women much worse, never apologize and then they take something like what Ed said and lie some more.  I can only hope that there is a God and that he is keeping record....I am!  Thank God for Karma because it will come back on them....I just wish it would hurry!  Every now and then my hubby will turn over to faux just to see what they are lying about today and I have to get up and leave the room.  I swear I actually get sick to my stomach just hearing those people talk.....I would love to see them called out as well on MSNBC but as you said, it wouldn't help because faux viewers never watch anyone who is intelligent or reports the facts.  They only want to hear rightwing propaganda.
