Priceless! (Video)

For those who didn't see this last night, it was priceless. I have always believed in God, a power that is greater then me. But with that said, I do not believe in organized religion and have said this many times. I think organized religion is a way to control and govern. It is not Big Government that people should fear, but religions that teach others to hate what they don't know or understand.

Sarah Palin is wrong about John F. Kennedy, religion and politics

By Kathleen Kennedy Townsend
Friday, December 3, 2010

Sarah Palin has found a new opponent to debate: John F. Kennedy.

In her new book, "America by Heart," Palin objects to my uncle's famous 1960 speech to the Greater Houston Ministerial Association, in which he challenged the ministers - and the country - to judge him, a Catholic presidential candidate, by his views rather than his faith.

Father And Son Have Different Missions In Life!

I grew up in a very religious home as well so I thought this article was worth sharing. It's obvious that the religious right like Sarah Palin would love for us to vote for the teabaggers/republican party out of incredible fear! Grandma always said...Religion is for those who are afraid of going to hell...Spirituality is for those who have already been there! ~Mem

Unlike his Bible-thumping dad, Nate Phelps likes Lady Gaga’s music and feels sorry for Mel Gibson.

Phelps has also been hired as the executive director of the Alberta branch of the Centre for Inquiry (CFI) Canada.

CFI is an atheist charity that promotes “skeptical, secular, rational and humanistic enquiry.”

In recent months, Phelps, 51, garnered international attention after speaking out against his father’s hatred and intolerance messages and in support of gays.

Last May, Phelps spoke with Xtra about growing up in a Christian fundamentalist household. He talked about being angry with the homophobia spread by his father, the infamous Southern Baptist minister Fred Phelps. He also spoke about the physical and psychological abuse he suffered as a child and how he helped create a healing and support group called Life After Fundamentalism. Read More:The Immoral Minority

Palin, False Prophet For Profit?

by Mem

Two Types Of False Prophets

Those outside the church, who are really no grave danger to believers; and those inside the church, "wolves in sheep clothing." Paul told the Ephesian elders that men would rise up from their own midst and draw men away with false doctrines (Acts 20:29,30). It's these angels of light the church must beware and be able to identify before they wreak unprecedented havoc.

By Their Fruit

In Matt. 7:20-23, Jesus taught that even if a prophet could do miracles, it meant nothing if his life did not bear the right fruit. Often times Paul identifies false prophets by this condition (2 Tim 3:1-5). In Acts 20:29,30 false prophets were the ones who drew disciples to themselves. How the church today is inundated with such individuals! The prophets of old were not media celebrities who relentlessly pleaded with people for their financial offerings payable directly to their bank accounts. False prophets were the ones greedy for filthy lucre (1 Tim. 6:3-7). They may even fabricate lies and false testimonies just to hoodwink the gullible who cannot search truth for themselves (2 Pet. 2:3). In 1 Cor. 11, Paul cites his sacrificial life as evidence of authentic apostleship. As you read it, you’ll realize that the sacrifice Paul talked about was not waking a few late nights or preaching 3 sermons a week. It is unlikely false prophets would sacrifice the very comfort of their lives because that would be counterproductive to their selfish goals.

I have also been in communication with the minister from the Assembly Of God Church in Wasilla because I know that many people from the religious right support Palin because of their affiliation with the Church. The minister informed me that Palin's have not been a member of this church for about 8 years now.

Palin's Movement Urges 'Godly' To 'Plunder' Wealth Of The 'Godless' (so does she consider all of her supporters who are losing their homes, health and jobs and yet donating to her, Godless?) I believe that Palin uses God and Religion for profit and does this through invoking fear.

She is not intelligent and yet she is able to excite the mob! (Sound familiar? I bet Jesus would say "Yes, it does") She has the ability to invoke hate, fear, racism and violence and that is the "key" to her success. She preaches "Patriotism" and "Real Americans" while supporting the AIP whom her husband Todd belonged to for years. AIP's creation was inspired by the rabidly violent anti-Americanism of its founding father Joe Vogler.

Vogler was murdered in 1993 during an illegal sale of plastic explosives that went bad. The prior year, he had renounced his allegiance to the United States explaining that, "The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government." He cursed the stars and stripes, promising, "I won't be buried under their damned flag...when Alaska is an independent nation they can bring my bones home." Palin has never denounced Vogler or his detestable anti-Americanism. Palin's husband Todd remained an AIP party member from 1995 to 2002.

Article by Bruce Wilson was posted November 1, 2008 and I thought it was a good time to take another look at it. ~Mem

Sarah Palin endorser Bishop Thomas Muthee, in a speech he gave before blessing and anointing Sarah Palin as a political leader, on October 16, 2005 at the Wasilla Assembly of God, laid out the current agenda of the New Apostolic Reformation - how "God's kingdom" needed to "infiltrate" seven sectors of society. Muthee listed most of them: business and finance, schools and education, media and entertainment, politics and government.

Muthee also stated "The Bible says the wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous. Sarah Palin was in the audience. Minutes later, she was anointed, and blessed, with the laying on of hands.

Thomas Muthee is an internationally known celebrity in the New Apostolic Reformation and a personal friend of the movement's head, C. Peter Wagner. In June 2006 Wagner proclaimed that "God has declared through His prophets that the wealth of the wicked will be released to the Kingdom of God," and declared, threateningly, "the enemies' camp will be plundered." Is the religious right finally getting it? Is there hope that they won't always be JUST Sheeple?

Faith-Based Group Fires Back at Glenn Beck

One hundred thousand faithful Americans are telling Glenn Beck that enough is enough. This summer as Beck travels the United States solo and with Bill O'Reilly, Faithful America--a multi-faith justice organization--has rallied its members to push back against Beck's anti-Christian-social-justice message. When Beck makes stops in South Carolina, New York, New Jersey, and Washington D.C., the group's provocative new ad will follow his trail and challenge his words as “piecemeal gospel” on local Christian radio stations.

As pointed out in my post yesterday, Beck's recent attacks on Christian theologies of justice find little to no support from Scripture. Faithful America says Beck specifically ignores the message of the prophets and Jesus. “He has gone after what's at the heart of what we believe our faith tradition says,” Read more....

Evangelical Politics?

I am so sick of “organized religion”. I was born and raised in organized religion and was even a Sunday school teacher at one point in my life. But just like John McCain, many Christians are phonies. I think actions speak much louder then words and the only action I see from John McShame is Dishonesty, Dirty Campaigning, Saying Whatever The People Want To Hear, Adulterer Who Left His First Wife And Three Kids For Cindy McCain, A Man Who Would Sell His Own Mom Down The River To Get What He Wants. He uses her to show how old he might get. For God's sake, the mans already old, how much older does he want to get? (now that’s ambition), The Worst Person In The World For The Veterans Rights, An Elitist Who Has More Money Then He Can Ever Spend and he has the nerve to attack Obama or anyone else! He is a poor excuse for a human being at this point, let alone presidential material. For all of you so called Christians who have been spreading rumors that Obama is the anti-christ, maybe you should read your Bible and stop interpreting it the way you want it to be. If you were really Christians and knew what the heck you were talking about then you would know that we wouldn’t even suspect the person of being the anti-christ, let alone being able to name him! Let’s see, I can remember a day when y’all said it was Kissinger, Regan and……..so on and so on! Find some spirituality instead of religion and then maybe you can come up with a mind of your own! CAN MCAIN KEEP UP WITH HIS OWN LIES AND NASTY CAMPAIGNING?

Robert Creamer: At first the unfolding conflict between Russia and its neighbor the Republic of Georgia seemed to be just what the McCain candidacy needed: a foreign policy crisis that would allow him to demonstrate a "tough, decisive, experienced" mastery of foreign affairs, and a new rationale for why Americans should choose experience over change in a dangerous world. But it hasn't taken long for the developments in the Caucuses to become a growing political liability instead. Click here to read more.

Did McCain lie in a church this weekend in an attempt to kiss-up to Evangelicals who are already very concerned about his bona fides on faith and religion?

Kerry Rips MSNBC On Wright: “You People Need To Let Go Of This”

April 30, 2008
Jason Linkings Huffington Post

Today, John Kerry officially became the 87,436th person to receive one of the three or four versions of the same Reverend Wright question MSNBC has been asking everyone it comes in contact with, including their plants and pets. Kerry, who's maybe a little sensitive toward these sorts of issues, wasn't having it, and his displeasure manifested itself in the closest thing Kerry does that resembles losing his ever-loving mind. That said, it sort of worked! Kerry changed the conversation all right, but Alex Witt opted to just ask one more question ("I would like to get your concerns about the unity of the Democratic party as the Republican party was able to coalesce around its nominee, John McCain. How concerned are you?") before shutting the whole thing down.

WITT: Okay. He said it. A 20-year relationship. Reverend wright married him. He is the one who baptized a god parent. How personally painful is this for him?

KERRY: Can I say something to you? Obviously it is painful and he said it. You folks need to let go of this. Television needs to stop dwelling on something that is in the past. I thought Barack Obama yesterday gave America his second big presidential moment of this campaign. The first when he spoke out about the issue of race. The second yesterday, when he made it clear, every one of the statements of the minister are just unacceptable. They're not the person that he knew before. Now let's move on to how we'll put people to work. How are you going to give people health care? How are you going to create jobs in america? What Barack Obama is offering in this gas price issue is real leadership. I mean, do we want people who sort of put their fingers in the wind and throw out an idea for the short term that is sort of politically pleasing, or do you want a here who stands up and says, no, what we need is to really lower gas prices by having a real energy policy, an intelligent policy that puts in place the incentives for renewable fuels and alternative fuels. That's what Barack Obama is doing. And it is you guys have to focus on the thing that really matter to the American electorate. The other thing is just worn out, old history now. This guy had his narcissistic moment and it is finished.

WITT: Okay. Point well taken. Did I say to begin, can I just say, sir, I knew you weren't going to like that question. On the record.

KERRY: Let's move on to the thing that really matter to people. I think people in America are tired of this stuff.

WITT: Okay.
