Sarah Palin: Palling Around With John McCain

We often say that John McCain is running for George Bush's third term, and yesterday we learned that he plans to do it by running Bush's first campaign...the campaign where Bush assaulted John McCain's character:

Sen. John McCain and his Republican allies are readying a newly aggressive assault on Sen. Barack Obama's character, believing that to win in November they must shift the conversation back to questions about the Democrat's judgment, honesty and personal associations, several top Republicans said.

But since McCain was too tired to campaign himself this weekend, the 72-year old decided to let "Sarah be Sarah," which apparently means making vile, baseless accusations:

"Our opponent is someone who sees America as imperfect enough to pal around with terrorists who targeted their own country," Palin told a rally of about 10,000 gathered at a tennis stadium in Carson, a suburb of Los Angeles.

And the basis for Palin's attack? Besides desperation and falling poll numbers, I mean? A New York Times article about William Ayers and Obama that concluded the two men "do not appear to have been close." In other words, living in the same neighborhood and serving on the same charitable boards does not mean you're "palling around" with someone, nor does it mean you endorse their actions from 40 years ago.

And if Sarah Palin wants to talking about palling around with people who find America less than perfect, then it's time to talk about her association with the Alaska Independence Party (AIP), the secessionist group whose founder, Joe Vogler once said:

The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government...and I won't be buried under their damn flag...

I'm an Alaskan, not an American. I've got no use for America or her damned institutions.

Palin's complete dealings with the group isn't entirely clear, and unfortunately we can't ask Mr. Vogler about it since he was murdered in a plastic explosives sale gone bad," but we do know this: Sarah Palin probably attended the AIP convention 1994, the McCain campaign admits she attended in 2000, and as governor, Palin taped a welcoming message to them in 2006, saying:

Your party plays an important role in our state's politics. I've always said that competition is so good, and that applies to political parties as well. I share your party's vision of upholding the constitution of our great state... So I say good luck on a successful and inspiring convention. Keep up the good work, and God bless you.

Add to that, Todd Palin, aka, the "First Dude," was a registered member of AIP from 1995 until 2002, coincidentally changing his party affiliation when she began her first campaign for public office.

So, we have Sarah Palin, actively involved with a secessionist group that professes its hatred for America, and whose husband was a card-carrying member of the group for seven years. And don't forget, Todd Palin isn't just the spouse of an elected official. He has been called a Shadow Governor, attending private meetings, being sent on fact finding trips, and being copied on emails that were later "prohibited from being released to the public due to executive privilege." This man would be a 72-year old heartbeat and a pillow away from the presidency.

So if Sarah Palin wants to talk about questionable associations, bring it on.

The Statement: Republican vice presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin said Saturday, October 4, that Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama is "someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."

Verdict: False. There is no indication that Ayers and Obama are now "palling around," or that they have had an ongoing relationship in the past three years. Also, there is nothing to suggest that Ayers is now involved in terrorist activity or that other Obama associates are.

STRAIGHT TALK

The nice thing about having my own blog is that I can write whatever I want and not have to wait to see if it will be approved and posted. The sad thing about having a blog is sometimes it doesn’t matter or make a difference.

With that said I would start out by saying that even though I have never voted until this year I have always been a huge campaigner. Obviously I made the wrong decision for the last eight years.

As all Republicans I only listened to Fox. I took them at their word when they said that CNN and MSNBC were Obama supporters and only gave attention to Obama.
After listening to Fox say day in and day out how fair and balanced they were, I started getting nauseated. I watched Obama and I listened to him and I noticed how he reacted to all of the bad things that were being said about him and his wife. I watched as republicans were being told to vote for HRC. I listened to Hannity and I physically started getting sick. I realized that the person who was acting like the “Real Christian” throughout this whole thing was Obama.

People like Hannity are the same kind of people that turned me against religion and churches. They were promoting hate and racism and I knew that what the Republican Party was offering, I no longer wanted. We had been lied to for eight years and everyone in the country was suffering but the Republicans didn’t care, just as long as their candidate won the election. I started watching CNN and MSNBC and realized that Fox had been lying. They were hammering into the public the same things that Fox was. Lapels, Obama’s pastor, patriotism and so on and so on. It was then I realized that Obama was getting a bad rap from all of the media and yet he managed to rise above all of it and go on with his race without doing all of the dirty fighting and lies that other candidates put out.

I noticed lately Obama is fighting back harder against McCain but it’s not been dirty in my opinion. The day that McCain and Obama walked down to ground zero, some veterans had to put a pin of the American Flag on McCain and his wife because they were not wearing one. ( Obama was.) The media said nothing about it. At the debates McCain didn’t have an American flag pin on and Obama did. The media said nothing about it unless Olbermann or Maddow did. I didn’t get a chance to watch them that night. If that had been Obama the media would have crucified him and been talking about it for days and maybe weeks.

McCain has managed to use the media like a fiddle, keeping them running from one subject to another until they look like they are just as flaky as McCain. Many things have happened that should be questioned about McCain and Palin and the public hears about it for about five minutes and then they are off and running with another “topic” that McCain has created. Many men were Hero’s during the Vietnam War and many men were offered the same arrangement as McCain. Many men came home from that war with rotten food thrown at them and no help when they stepped back onto American soil. Other POWS came home that were not given the same welcome or the same Hero treatment as that of McCain. They came home and tried to put their lives back together and McCain came home feeling entitled. Ask Veterans how they feel about McCain and ask them how he has helped them throughout the years.

McCain had no problems with lying to and cheating on his wife who was no longer the model that he had married. (She had been in a horrible car accident, which you can read about in this blog) He cheated many times and then finally left her and their three children for the one with the most money, the one who could help further his career. Cindy McCain! By the way he also lied in his book about when he asked Cindy to marry him and how long they had been seeing each other so he continued lies about this up to this election when he was called on it. He in fact was still married to his wife, living with her when he asked Cindy and bought her a ring.

I loved the way McCain said in the debate that we should ask Obama about what he thinks is a lot of money or something to that effect in which Obama should have jumped all over that. McCain is constantly trying to make Obama look like an elitist when it is he who has seven houses and thirteen cars. It is he and his wife who are worth over 150 million. I have heard people say that it is her money. Wrong, in the state of AZ It is 50/50.

Then there is Keating Five where McCain was as crooked as they come but smart enough to throw all of the other people under the bus and managed to come out of it with a slap to the wrist. You can also read about the Keating Five in this blog because obviously the media won’t talk about it.

McCain has been obsessed with Obama admitting to the world that the surge worked and what McCain doesn’t seem to understand is that if he hadn’t been in the pocket of Bush, bombing a country and people that had nothing to do with 911 but everything to do with oil, we wouldn’t have even needed the surge. Wrong war, wrong place. The people who are responsible for 911 are still out there and stronger then ever!

Another example of McCain always looking out for McCain and not caring about this country is PALIN. He wanted shock value, he wanted to take the limelight away from the Democratic convention and he did. He chose a woman he didn’t know, he chose a woman who is in the middle of an investigation and who doesn’t seem to know anything about anything. He showed very poor judgment in his first decision and it is coming back to bite him in the butt. For this reason I would tell Palin to bow out gracefully or never go hunting with Cheney or McCain. Stay away from people with big guns. That brings me to the subject of sexism. If you want to play with the big boys then fight like the big boys and stop screaming sexism! That really pisses me off!

All of you old people that are Democrats or Independents who are not sure how to vote stop being so damn selfish and think about your children and their childrens futures. Get past your racist attitudes before you put us at the mercy of what I consider two of the most "incompetent" people in this country.

Republicans open your eyes! This is not the time for your need to be right! You are being stubborn at the cost of our country, knowing that you are supporting two people that will cost our country dearly if elected! I can be light hearted in this blog but the facts are this election is not a game. Your pick for Vice President is scary and a heart beat away from being the President of the US. She is the most dangerous thing I have ever seen happen to this country given the age and health of John McCain.

Obama is smart and has a plan to get us out of the war in Iraq, help those who need insurance and medical care as well as prevention programs and he cares about the people. McCain is show, theatrics and lies all wrapped up into one and the media better start getting really honest with all the people who believe every thing they hear. He is also OLD and going to leave us with a bimbo if he croaks to run our country! We now have Dumb and Dumber back on the big screen and they are a JOKE! Jack Cafferty was spot on when he said, “if that doesn’t scare the hell out of you, I don’t know what would!” (Speaking of Palins interview with Katie Couric) I have been around men like McCain all my life who are controlling, manipulating and self absorbed. They are mentally and often physically abusive and I would bet that if the truth came out he has done more then just called Cindy McCain the "C" word. He lies at the drop of a hat and has a hard time looking someone in the eye when he talks. When Obama shakes his hand he acts like he is offended and cannot wait to wipe the "black" off of himself. I think McCain is one of the biggest racists out there and has had to bite his tongue to hide it. A lot of people like So Called Christians, Bitter Women and Racist will not vote for Obama because they would rather cut off their nose to spite their face.. They would rather vote for a man who would gamble our childrens future away. The would rather vote for a man who would bet on a war for oil and sell his soul for a throw of the dice. They would rather vote for a man who has no problem running our country like a crap game then vote for a man who is Black!
