Bristol Palin and Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino talk about hooking up and magnum condoms in a new PSA to help prevent teen pregnancy. Awkward! The unwed baby momma and Jersey Shore star want you to PBYP, or "pause before you play." In the ad, B-Palin, as the Sitch calls her, promotes abstinence while the Situation advocates safe sex in a fake heart-to-heart backstage on Dancing With The Stars. Margaret and Helen
If you have not met these two ladies yet then you don't know what you are missing. I am going to share their post on my blog today because they are funny and so dang right! By the way for you who have not heard yet the lunatic preacher from Florida who was going to have the book burning, just announced that he has changed his mind. Of course Palin and Beck will take credit for that. Facts are, the fire department would have fined him because he did not have a burn permit. 9/8/10
Some Articles Just Belong In My Scrapbook
This article was sent to me by my friend Anita Daniels and I couldn't agree with it more. It explains exactly why the republicans must bring out their old playbook and even the most simple of minds can surly understand this. I have recently heard friends from the right (yes I have some) state that they think Sarah Palin is "smart". Okay, I said I have some friends on the right, I didn't say they were playing with a full deck and yes my mouth drops a little further each time I hear this. May I say or SHOUT to them ONE more time....Sarah is NOT smart and you have forced me to use the word stupid....there is no other way to put it! I have tried to always say ignorant but the woman really is just STUPID with the ability to anger the crowd.9/1/10
VanityFair's Michael Joseph Gross Takes On Palin!
Maybe now the real journalist will come out of hiding and start reporting the truth as well! Great Article!~MemSarah Palin the Sound and the Fury Even as Sarah Palin’s public voice grows louder, she has become increasingly secretive, walling herself off from old friends and associates, and attempting to enforce silence from those around her. Following the former Alaska governor’s road show, the author delves into the surreal new world Palin now inhabits—a place of fear, anger, and illusion, which has swallowed up the engaging, small-town hockey mom and her family—and the sadness she has left in her wake.

BUSTED! Fox News Posts Review Of Glenn Beck’s Rally Before It Happens
Fri Aug 27, 2010 at 11:30:07 AM PDT
Fox News promos often tout the network as "The Most Powerful Name In News." Now that power extends into the supernatural as FoxNews.com is caught publishing a story reviewing Glenn Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally in Washington, DC, the day before it takes place. This demonstration of journalistic clairvoyance may just be a part of the "miraculous" occurrences that Beck promised would take place at tomorrow's historic event. However, despite the obvious scoop that Fox could claim with this pre-porting, the story was quickly removed from the site, but not before I captured this picture of the screen:

Just Another Beck And Palin Wacko-Fest!
On the brink of Glenn Beck's salvation by Media Matters! There's only one person who might know what's going to happen on Saturday, August 28 in front of the Lincoln Memorial -- Glenn Beck -- and there's a good chance even he's not sure. Beck's "Restoring Honor" event has gone through so many different changes that it's impossible to nail down what will or won't be included. First it was an educational seminar, then it was a political rally,

Glenn Beck is NOT Martin Luther King Jr!
August 28th is an important day in American history. On this date Martin Luther King Jr. promoted a just, equal, diverse and compassionate country in his "I Have a Dream Speech" at the Lincoln Memorial.
This year, on the same date, Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin will hold a rally at the Lincoln Memorial. The racist and hate-filled tenor

Can You Say BIG RED FLAG?
The first flag should have been the blank look on Sarah's face when Katie was asking the question. Second flag should have been when Sarah opened her mouth.
Third flag should have been the constant blinking of Katie Courics eyes like a total brain meltdown was happening.
Some things are just fun to watch over and over again. When my brain starts scrambling I shake my head as hard as I can until I get out of the toddler mode I was thrown into. I wouldn't advice doing this in front of small children. ~Mem

I just came across a very interesting article and wanted to make sure that it is a part of my scrapbook. My Dad and most of my old friends parents from back home (who fight the union and are republican) grew up in a Union town. I have been a member of the Union most of my adult life. Those who fight against the Union fight against their own self interest, but isn't that the intentions of the tea party and republican party?~Mem

Palin, False Prophet For Profit?
by MemTwo Types Of False Prophets
Those outside the church, who are really no grave danger to believers; and those inside the church, "wolves in sheep clothing." Paul told the Ephesian elders that men would rise up from their own midst and draw men away with false doctrines (Acts 20:29,30). It's these angels of light the church must beware and be able to identify before they wreak unprecedented havoc.
By Their Fruit
In Matt. 7:20-23, Jesus taught that even if a prophet could do miracles, it meant nothing if his life did not bear the right fruit. Often times Paul identifies false prophets by this condition (2 Tim 3:1-5). In Acts 20:29,30 false prophets were the ones who drew disciples to themselves. How the church today is inundated with such individuals! The prophets of old were not media celebrities who relentlessly pleaded with people for their financial offerings payable directly to their bank accounts. False prophets were the ones greedy for filthy lucre (1 Tim. 6:3-7). They may even fabricate lies and false testimonies just to hoodwink the gullible who cannot search truth for themselves (2 Pet. 2:3). In 1 Cor. 11, Paul cites his sacrificial life as evidence of authentic apostleship. As you read it, you’ll realize that the sacrifice Paul talked about was not waking a few late nights or preaching 3 sermons a week. It is unlikely false prophets would sacrifice the very comfort of their lives because that would be counterproductive to their selfish goals.
I have also been in communication with the minister from the Assembly Of God Church in Wasilla because I know that many people from the religious right support Palin because of their affiliation with the Church. The minister informed me that Palin's have not been a member of this church for about 8 years now.
Palin's Movement Urges 'Godly' To 'Plunder' Wealth Of The 'Godless' (so does she consider all of her supporters who are losing their homes, health and jobs and yet donating to her, Godless?) I believe that Palin uses God and Religion for profit and does this through invoking fear.
She is not intelligent and yet she is able to excite the mob! (Sound familiar? I bet Jesus would say "Yes, it does") She has the ability to invoke hate, fear, racism and violence and that is the "key" to her success. She preaches "Patriotism" and "Real Americans" while supporting the AIP whom her husband Todd belonged to for years. AIP's creation was inspired by the rabidly violent anti-Americanism of its founding father Joe Vogler.
Vogler was murdered in 1993 during an illegal sale of plastic explosives that went bad. The prior year, he had renounced his allegiance to the United States explaining that, "The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government." He cursed the stars and stripes, promising, "I won't be buried under their damned flag...when Alaska is an independent nation they can bring my bones home." Palin has never denounced Vogler or his detestable anti-Americanism. Palin's husband Todd remained an AIP party member from 1995 to 2002.
Article by Bruce Wilson was posted November 1, 2008 and I thought it was a good time to take another look at it. ~Mem
Sarah Palin endorser Bishop Thomas Muthee, in a speech he gave before blessing and anointing Sarah Palin as a political leader, on October 16, 2005 at the Wasilla Assembly of God, laid out the current agenda of the New Apostolic Reformation - how "God's kingdom" needed to "infiltrate" seven sectors of society. Muthee listed most of them: business and finance, schools and education, media and entertainment, politics and government.
Muthee also stated "The Bible says the wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous. Sarah Palin was in the audience. Minutes later, she was anointed, and blessed, with the laying on of hands.
Thomas Muthee is an internationally known celebrity in the New Apostolic Reformation and a personal friend of the movement's head, C. Peter Wagner. In June 2006 Wagner proclaimed that "God has declared through His prophets that the wealth of the wicked will be released to the Kingdom of God," and declared, threateningly, "the enemies' camp will be plundered." GOP Rep. Bob Inglis slams Republicans for being led by hate radio, ‘preying on fears.’
I always try to give credit where credit is due and my hat is off to Bob Inglis! Sometimes people step up and do the right thing. It's really to bad that he lost the primary but I guess he just wasn't hateful enough for the tea party or republicans! What a shame!~MemRep. Bob Inglis (R-SC), who lost recently in his primary run-off for the Republican nomination to keep his seat in Congress, is speaking out about the influence of hate radio and right-wing fear mongering in the Republican Party. In an interview with the AP, Inglis called out reactionaries like Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck for spreading “demagoguery” and hatred in society:
– Noting that Palin had spread the “death panel” smear, Inglis said, “there were no death panels in the bill…and to encourage that kind of fear is just the lowest form of political leadership.” Read More...

Leave it to Glenn Beck to create a cottage industry out of the dissemination of ignorance.
Apparently if you still have a few functioning brain cells that you have not managed to kill through rampant binge drinking and methamphetamine use, attending online classes at THIS school should finally snuff them out.I always thought that "stupid" was something you were for NOT learning, but that was just for the slackers, now there are these online courses available so that you can receive an unaccredited degree in "stupid".
Leave it to Glenn Beck to create a cottage industry out of the dissemination of ignorance. "Hey! I am not just your everyday, run of the mill stupid! I have a PHD in stupid!" says the Beckerhead.

The Tea Party Is Dangerous: Dispelling 7 Myths That Help Us Avoid Reality About the New Right-Wing PoliticsIt may be fashionable to dismiss the Tea Party and its radical, right-wing pals, but we do so at our peril.

Few things are more confounding to liberals and progressives than the rise of the Tea Party movement, and the media’s infatuation with it. Just as we breathed a sigh of relief with the election of Barack Obama as the nation’s 44th president, after eight disastrous years under the reign of Bush the Younger, in swept a furious wave of misanthropic pique.

Far-Right Radio Host Savages Palin
By Amanda Terkel at 11:59 am
Far-Right Radio Host Savages Palin: It’s ‘Suicide’ For Republicans To Choose Palin As Our 2012 Nominee
On Thursday, a Washington Post-ABC News poll had some bad news for Sarah Palin: 71 percent of the American public — including 52 percent of Republicans — don’t think the former Alaska governor is qualified to be president. This week, far-right radio host Michael Savage voiced some of these GOP complaints, saying that the Party would essentially be committing “suicide” if it made Palin its 2012 nominee:
If you want Obama for a second term, just make sure that Sarah Palin is the Republican nominee. … And I am telling you, that if they make that idiotic mistake of pushing her as their lead candidate, it’s over; Obama will get a second term, no matter how bad his presidency has been. That’s my opinion. It’s one man’s opinion. It doesn’t mean I don’t agree with her politically. It doesn’t mean I think she’s a bad person.
She’s not electable as president. She doesn’t have…the gravitas. He doesn’t either. That doesn’t mean — She’s not the right person. We need a businessman. We need someone with guts, preferably someone who’s served in the military. That means we have nobody. And please don’t tell me about Mr. Brown. God! Please! I warned you! Don’t Obama-size these guys.
It’s ironic that Savage criticizes Palin for not being a “businessman,” considering that that line is a frequent attack she throws at Democrats. In her recent speech to the National Tea Party convention, she cited her experience with Todd’s “commercial fishing business” as evidence that she knows how to “tighten our belts” and “cut back budgets” — unlike the politicians in Washington.
Savage also went after Palin’s arrangement with Fox News, saying that it was unethical and disingenuous:
You know what disturbs me? This is the part that worries me a little bit. She went to work for Fox News, and at the same time, she’s fundamentally running for the presidency. At the same time. I mean, the last I checked, you can’t do that. The last I checked is that you have to leave a media job in order to announce your candidacy. What is this? You can’t have it both ways. Either you’re running, or you’re not. Don’t play a game with the American people. We’re not stupid.

Original Mavericks To McCain: "You Are No Maverick"
Brave New Films talks to the actual original Mavericks, who aren't too fond of John McCain using their name:
Fontaine Maverick, great-great-granddaughter of Samuel Augustus Maverick (1803-1870) explains the origin of the expression -- and why it shouldn't apply to the Republican candidate:
Samuel Maverick was a Texas cattleman, land baron and politician, so influential that he was one of the signers of the Texas Declaration of Independence. Fiercely independent and equally liberal. Sam became well known for what he didn't do, however. It seems, according to Fontaine, that he had taken some cattle in lieu of a debt he was owed. He let them roam on an island off of Texas, and for whatever reason, didn't brand them. So, any unbranded cattle became known as Maverick's. Now, this more than likely wasn't an act of revolt. No one knows for sure, but Maverick really wasn't much of a cattleman. He was also shrewd, later on in life if cattle weren't branded, he would often claim them.
Sam was also very spirited and free minded. It was because of this that in 1867 the term Maverick was first cited as being used to describe someone with an independent streak, someone not branded.
"Mavericks believe everybody has a right to be in America so long as they obey the law," Fontaine told me. "Grandfather Maury was no coward. He chased the Klan right out of San Antonio once, stood up to the mob... Maury was burned in effigy in San Antonio, for his defense of members of the Communist Party's right to assemble, for his defense of the Hispanic community, support for those who didn't have a voice. "
"My brother called me from California last week during the VP debate and told me if they said the world Maverick one more time, he was going to shoot the TV. Of course, he doesn't have a gun, but, you get the point. My mother was just quoted in the New York Times about how we feel McCain is branded, Palin is branded, they are Republicans, and true Mavericks carry no brand. It's driving our family crazy, upsetting us and the legacy of my family, and we really with the campaign would stop misusing the word and the phrase.
"John McCain on a few occasions has shown that he can go against his party, but how hard is that when his party has been wrong on so many things as we now see," she continued. "But he has a brand. And Palin, I'm not sure she even knows the history of the word of or my family, but one thing is clear to all of my family, she truly is not a Maverick."
