Do you ever get the feeling that Tea Party Republicans see the phrase “Ignorance Is Bliss” as a Mission Statement?

Will The Dems In Congress Ever Have President Obama's Back? (video)

I am wondering if all members of the Democratic Congress have ever had this Presidents back at one time?  It seems as though he has never gotten the full support of his own party on any issue.  Perhaps he did not take his actions on Libya to congress because it was important to do this as quickly as possible or people were going to die and that Republicans have made it very clear that anything the President wants will be stopped in the house.  Have they not already proved that they are the party of NO and have they not said over and over again that their mission is to see Barack Obama's Waterloo?  I know that a couple of Dems have said they thought that the President would have been given permission.  Well guess what?

I think you are fools if you think the Republicans would go along with anything the President suggest period!  (I'm a little sick of the media giving these people a voice about it...let them go to fox to complain)

I am not for war of any kind, but I am for humanity and compassion and wise choices and I trust this President, that is why he got my vote and my support.  The President has proven many times that his wisdom and insight is far beyond his years and some do not have the intelligence to see that or they are blinded by the color of his skin!

I think that these people tell the true story of President Obama's decision.  I think this huge mass of people that would have been killed and thrown in graves, who now march the streets in gratitude are the ones with the real story, not the whining of those in Congress on the left who didn't get their way, and those republicans who didn't get the chance to hold this up for a month or two while they tried to decide if their ass was up or down!  -Mem

Update-I really did have to share this post from FB by my friend Matt Y.-Mem

@Matt Yeazel
So much for the United States being embroiled in a third conflict similar to Iraq and Afghanistan, huh. Guess it didn't happen, haters, did it? Further, the President was true to his world- the US will step back and hand it ove...r to NATO. See- instead of crying liking Chicken Little Chomsky, allow the adults at the big table to handle foreign affairs. Thank you. Sorry- but you were wrong.

March 26th Update: Letter From The President On Libya
The White House, Washington

Good morning,
I'm writing today with an update on the situation in Libya, including the actions we've taken with allies and partners to protect the Libyan people from the brutality of Moammar Qaddafi. For further details, please take a moment to watch this morning's Weekly Address:

Sending our brave men and women in uniform into harm's way is not a decision I make lightly. But when someone like Qaddafi threatens a bloodbath that could destabilize an entire region, it is in our national interest to act.  In fact, it’s our responsibility.

Our mission in Libya is clear and focused -- and we are succeeding.

Along with our allies and partners, we are enforcing the mandate of the United Nations Security Council.  Working with other countries, we have put in place a no-fly zone and other measures that will help prevent further violence and brutality. Qaddafi's air defenses have been taken out, and his forces are no longer advancing across Libya.

As a consequence of our quick action, the lives of countless innocent civilians have been saved, and a humanitarian catastrophe has been avoided.

The role of American forces in this mission is limited. After providing unique capabilities at the beginning, we are now handing over control of the no-fly zone to our NATO allies and partners, including Arab partners like Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

The United States has also joined with the international community to deliver urgent humanitarian assistance.  We're offering support to the Libyan opposition and have frozen tens of billions of dollars of Qaddafi's assets.

Our message to Qaddafi is clear: attacks against innocent civilians must end, his forces must be pulled back, humanitarian aid must reach Libyans in need, and those responsible for the violence in Libya must be held accountable.

The progress we've made over the past seven days demonstrates how the international community should work, with many nations, not just the United States, bearing the responsibility and cost of upholding international law.

Every American can be proud of the service of our men and women in uniform who have once again stood up for our interests and ideals.  And as we move forward, I will continue to keep each of you fully informed on our progress.

Sincerely,
Barack Obama
President of the United States

P.S. On Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. EDT, I will deliver an address at the National Defense University in Washington, DC on the situation in Libya. You can watch the speech live at WhiteHouse.gov/live.

  1. I wish your poll had a box that says: I think he did consult, and it was enough under the circumstances. He is damned if he does and if he doesn't and he proceeded in a situation that is so tough.. but standing aside while we know there are people asking for help and in the path of a massacre , just not what we should stand for. Look at history..look at Germany..etc etc. Doing what is right, making tough choices..

  4. Scorpi I just get really angry with the Dems and I blame those who bashed our President (many progressives) for the fail in the mid-term elections. We as a Country are now paying the price and they learned nothing from it. Congress didn't learn, the progressives didn't learn and the media who you would think are on the Presidents side didn't learn.
