Demise Of Families-Sponsored by 2010 Republican Tea Party
Posted on October 29th, 2010 by iwaller
The 2010 Election season has brought out some of the most unstable, violence inciting, bigoted and racist people brought to the American voting booth by Republicans and their Corporate-owned Tea Party. Not ONE of these candidates has provided a single initiative to support American families, children, seniors or the U.S. Military. They have not offered ONE single solution to put Americans back to work in America. They are solely and singled minded focused on taking away the rights, jobs, security and stability of the American family. They want to end Medicare, many want to end Social Security or at the very least, 104 Republicans want to privatize it and give Wall Street our tax savings to invest and to pay Wall Street CEOs hundreds of millions of dollars to manage our money. They want to put health insurance companies back in control of every family in America. They want to end the Department of Education and turn public schools over to Corporate America for profit. They want to expand government to be very intrusive in women’s lives and family decision-making.
They want to increase the U.S. Deficit by adding $700 billion to pay for extending the Bush Tax cuts for America’s richest and they want to add an additional $455 billion to the deficit by repealing Health Care Reform.
Republicans in the U.S. Senate have already broken all records for unprincipled partisan obstructionism, grid locking Congress to fight against saving the U.S. Economy, saving jobs for police, firefighters and teachers, and fighting against rebuilding America’s crumbling infrastructure. Today a bumper crop of far-right GOP candidates threatens to turn the “deliberative body” into a haven for extremists who view much of the federal government as unconstitutional and who are itching to shut it down. Now Americans are facing new, more extreme radicals whose primary goals are to support Corporate America, Wall Street Banks and the U.S. Chamber’s plan to ship jobs overseas.
If Republicans and Tea Party candidates were really serious about putting Americans back to work they would not have recently, partnered to defeat the Creating American Jobs and Ending Offshoring Act, a bill that would have raised taxes on companies that send jobs abroad and benefited companies that bring jobs back to American soil. The notion that it’s good business for American corporations to send jobs overseas has been championed by U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the nation’s biggest and most powerful business lobby.
Republicans have already gone on record stating they will not compromise with the President or with Democrats in the next two years. They plan to govern only to help continue the takeover of Americans by Corporations and foreign countries and in conjunction with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, continue to ship American jobs overseas, boosting foreign economies while simultaneously driving down the U. S. economy. Because of failed Republican policies:
- The US has lost approximately 42,400 factories since 2001.
- The US has lost a total of about 5.5 million manufacturing jobs since October 2000
- Ten years ago, the United States was ranked number one in average wealth per adult. In 2010, the United States has fallen to seventh
- The United States once had the highest proportion of young adults with post-secondary degrees in the world. Today, the U.S. has fallen to 12th.
- In 1980, the United States imported approximately 37 percent of the oil that we use. Now we import nearly 60 percent of the oil that we use.
- Between 2000 and 2009, America’s trade deficit with China increased nearly 300 percent.
- The United States spends approximately #3.90 on Chinese goods for every $1 that the Chinese spend on goods from the United States.
- The economy of India is projected to become larger than the U.S. economy by the year 2050.
- The economy of China is projected to triple the size of the U.S. economy by the year 2040.

Republicans consistently opposed tax relief for small businesses and the middle class, justifying their obstruction with phony, hypocritical arguments about spending. Republicans have tried to block extensions of unemployment benefits and aid for homeowners to prevent foreclosures as they continue to support shipping American jobs overseas and keep secret donations from foreign governments which are buying these jobs to grow their own economies at the expense of the U.S. Economy. Republicans and the Tea Party are poised to add billions to the deficit, impose government control over the bodies of American women, and give government control to Corporate America.
It should be clear from the 8 years of the Bush Administration that Republicans are predators, stalking working families in an ongoing effort to glean by any means possible, the income and assets which they can take and use for their own greedy purposes. Should Republicans and Tea Party extremists take control of Congress, the demise of American jobs, benefits and families will continue to increase; and Americans who chose not to vote, will be complicit in this demise.
