Do you ever get the feeling that Tea Party Republicans see the phrase “Ignorance Is Bliss” as a Mission Statement?

Sheeple! If Sarah Palin Is REALLY One Of You...then this is YOUR life!

Since the day that Sarah Palin stepped onto the McCain platform she has convinced her naive followers that she is one of them.  To this day she still tells the masses, I am one of you!  Well I want to see what You look like and how You live!- Mem
Wow!  Nice house and private plane YOU have

The International Herald Tribune published an extremely detailed estimate of Gov. Palin’s assets on October 1, 2008.

WASILLA, Alaska: Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and her husband have pieced together a uniquely Alaskan income that reached comfortably into six figures even before she became governor, capitalizing on valuable fishing rights, a series of land deals and a patchwork of other ventures to build an above-average lifestyle.
Add up the couple’s 2007 income and the estimated value of their property and investments and they appear to be worth at least $1.2 million. That would make the Palins, like Democratic vice presidential rival Joe Biden and his wife Jill, well-off but not nearly as wealthy as multimillionaire couples John and Cindy McCain and, to a lesser extent, Barack and Michelle Obama.
One measure of financial health: While there is a home loan, Palin reported no personal credit card debt on her most recent financial report as Alaska governor. That compares to average household credit card debt among Americans of $9,840 last year.
A more complete picture will come when Sarah Palin outlines her personal finances in federal paperwork in coming days. It will include details of any mortgage debt and at least rough dollar totals for bank accounts and investments.
Palin this week characterized herself as “an everyday, working-class American” who knows how it feels when the stock market takes a hit.
The Palins’ total income last year was split almost evenly between Sarah Palin’s white-collar job and her husband’s blue-collar work. Sarah Palin’s salary as governor was $125,000; Todd Palin took in $46,790 as a part-time oil production operator for BP Alaska in Prudhoe Bay, plus $46,265 in commercial fishing income and $10,500 in Iron Dog snowmachine race winnings. These figures do not include nearly $17,000 in per diem payments Palin received for 312 nights spent in her own home since she was elected governor; she also has received $43,490 to cover travel costs for her husband and children.
In addition, each member of the Palin family received $1,654 in state oil royalties paid to all Alaskans.
The Palins’ assets seem enviable: a half-million-dollar home on a lake with a float-plane at the dock, two vacation retreats, commercial-fishing rights worth an estimated $50,000 or more and an income last year of at least $230,000. That compares to a median income of $64,333 for Alaskans and $50,740 for Americans in 2007, according to the Census Bureau.
The Palins’ home, tucked behind a wooded field, is off Wasilla’s main road, Parks Highway, a mostly four-lane road cluttered with restaurants, bars, retail stores, offices, grocery stores and big-box outlets such as Target. A store-bought “no trespassing” sign is posted near the entry to an unmarked, private gravel drive that winds about 100 yards to the lakefront home.
The Palins’ four-bedroom, four-bath house, nearly 3,500 square feet (325 square meters), sits on just over two acres (0.8 hectares) behind a tall wood-plank privacy fence that runs along one side of the property. It’s one of the newest homes in the Snider subdivision lining Lake Lucille and is assessed at $552,000.
Todd Palin built the house with friends who were contractors, he said in a recent television interview. (Still questions about if this home was built for free on Gov. money)
The house is worth substantially more than the Palins’ starter home, a three-bedroom, two-bath house house built in 1984 on the far western boundary of Wasilla.
In addition to the Lake Lucille home, the Palins own recreational property in two remote areas accessible by plane, all-terrain vehicle or snowmachine.
The Palins own snowmachines and an airplane. Todd Palin has a 1958 Piper float plane that he said has been in his family for about 20 years.
Though old, such planes remain in wide use. Palin’s plane would be worth from about $38,000 to $78,000 depending on its condition, said Boyd Newman, owner of West One Aircraft Sales in Caldwell, Idaho.
Other family assets include Todd Palin’s shoreside lease and commercial fishing permit to harvest salmon from Bristol Bay each season. Last year, the Palins took in $46,265 commercial fishing for sockeye salmon over about a month.
Todd Palin’s permit is worth about $30,000, a shoreside lease on Coffee Point, where Palin’s set-net site is located, is worth about $20,000, and Palin’s skiff and gear are likely worth another $20,000, according to estimates by Paul Piercey, a broker with Dock Street Brokers in Seattle, which handles sales of fishing permits, boats and shoreside leases.
Palin’s fishing spot is considered good but not great, Piercey said. And the work is backbreaking. Palin has said he expects to earn 68 cents per pound for this summer’s catch.
Todd Palin is also still a BP employee. Company spokesman Steve Rinehart declined to describe Palin’s status beyond confirming his employment. Palin’s schedule is one week on, one week off, Palin said in a recent television interview.
Palin previously left BP in the 1990s to run Valley Polaris, a snowmachine, four-wheeler and watercraft dealership he pursued with a friend and business partner. They sold the business in 1997; public records do not show whether it was at a profit or a loss. At the time, Sarah Palin was earning about $61,000 a year as Wasilla mayor.
The Palins sold nearly five acres of undeveloped waterfront property on the northeast shore of Wasilla Lake in 2005 to a local developer. The sales price was not disclosed. The land now is subdivided into five parcels, with two waterfront lots, two others behind those, and a commercial lot. Duane Mathes, a local real estate agent showing the property for the owner who bought it from the Palins, said the leveled lots are listed for $149,500 each.
Update: (10/20/09): Bloggers in Alaska are reporting that the Palins are building something (a new home? a garage for the seaplane? a multi-use facility?) next to their home. One even went on a Palin road trip to verify the information for themselves. And then there is mudlfats.net that has perhaps the most intense coverage of Palin. (Photo of Palin’s new home above courtesy themudlfats.net).
Sarah Palin’s house, located at 1140 W Parks Hwy, Wasilla, AK 9965 is a two-story framed structure on a couple of acres, built in 2002 with a poured concrete foundation and no basement. According to Alaska magazine, the home was designed and built by “First Dude” husband, Todd. The home has an appraised value of $552,100, according to the Matanuska-Susitana Borough real property land details. You can see Palin’s home in the background here (sorry, I learned that link was blocked, but here’s a better view of Palin’s house).

It looks like Sarah and Todd own more than their Wasilla property. We came across this post by MilwaukeeWorld who did some digging on the Palin real estate holdings and it looks like Sarah and Todd own some other undeveloped land with family friend Scott A. Richter. Not as many as running mate John McCain’s 7 houses, but they certainly love their land in Alaska.

Palin cabins not noted in Mat-Su property tax assessments

SAFARI LAKE: Lawyer says it's the borough's job to update records.
Records show that Sarah Palin hasn't paid any property taxes on cabins that have been built on two backcountry plots partially owned by the former Alaska governor.

There were lots of interesting things in the document, including this.
Pg. 48/63 Palin Declined to Appear in Ads for A Candidate Because He Had Not Paid His Property Taxes. In 2004, it came to light that Republican Rep. Vic Kohring owed the borough $2,277 in unpaid property taxes on property he owns off Knik-Goose Bay Road, according to borough records. "That bothered former Wasilla Mayor Sarah Palin enough that she declined a campaign request to do a pro-Kohring TV commercial. As a former mayor, Palin said, it made her uncomfortable to back someone with unpaid taxes when the city relies on property taxes." [Anchorage Daily News (Alaska), 10/28/04]
"The middle of nowhere at our cabin in Petersville," Alaska. And now we get to the envelope. Inside was an unsigned letter which read:

Todd and Sarah are now millionaires, but they shirk their responsibility to pay local property taxes.
Attached are printed copies of Matanuska-Susitna Borough tax assessments from the public website (address shown at the bottom) regarding two lake frontage properties the Palins own in the Petersville Hills. Safari Lake is a gorgeous location, with stunning views of Mt. McKinley and the surrounding terrain.
Please note that two parcels total almost 20 acres and are assessed for a total value of $30,000. Also, there is a $0 value regarding any buildings on the property.
Any photos or visual inspection of the properties would clearly reveal that there are two large "cabins" on the property that are well built, and include thousands of dollars worth of improvements and amenities. The buildings are clearly nicer than many people's homes.
Also on the property is a large shop for snowmachines and four-wheelers.
These buildings have been on the property for years now - yet the Palins have done nothing to correct the assessment.
The letter was followed by two copies of Matanuska-Susitna Borough tax assessments for the parcels of land in question showing records for the years 2007, 2008, and 2009. You can see the documents online HERE and HERE

Posted: February 3, 2010 03:43 PM Sarah Palin - Tax Cheat? Contents of Mysterious Envelope Revealed
It was a few weeks ago, and it was a day like most days. I was having my first cup of coffee, settling in at my desk, and my eye landed on a stack of mail. On top of the stack was an envelope, and on the envelope was my name, hand written. I didn't see a return address in the corner, so I flipped the envelope over to see who had sent it. Nothing. Two stamps, and a Juneau, Alaska postmark. That was it.

To fully appreciate the contents of the envelope we'll need to wind the clock back to 2006. Sarah Palin is running for governor of the state of Alaska. She's running against former governor Tony Knowles, a Democrat. The DNC, unlike John McCain or the Republican party, decided that it would be to their advantage to vet this unknown Republican candidate for governor. When the McCain campaign "vetted" Palin they ended up with a couple Google articles, and a YouTube video. When the Democrats were finished with her, they had a 63-page document. There were lots of interesting things in the document, including this.

It was things like this that really made Sarah Palin stand out as a gubernatorial candidate. Republicans in the state were sick of the corruption that was running rampant in their own party, and they wanted change. They wanted a "fresh face" who had new ideas and ethical standards. They wanted someone who was actually bothered by a public official who would cheat his community by passing his personal tax burden on to others.

Recently, Sarah Palin gave an interview to Bill O'Reilly and said her favorite vacation spot was "The middle of nowhere at our cabin in Petersville," Alaska.

And now we get to the envelope. Inside was an unsigned letter which read:

Todd and Sarah are now millionaires, but they shirk their responsibility to pay local property taxes.

This photo, recently obtained by themudflats.net, shows one of the buildings on the property. It was taken about two years ago.
Lucky YOU!  YOU have two beautiful cabins as well!

There was another reference to property taxes in that vetting document from 2006. It talked about an inner struggle Palin had with whether or not to support a property tax cap. She talked to the Anchorage Daily News.

Pg. 15/63 Palin Called Herself "Such a Weasel" For Not Having a Firm Stand on the Property Tax Cap.
Palin said she has declined requests by Tax Cap Yes to speak in favor of the initiative. Yet, she said, she doesn't object to her name continuing to be listed on the group's Web site among 10 current or former government officials -- half from Mat-Su -- in support of the initiative. Palin acknowledged that she was sounding quite the politician. 'I am so sorry I'm such a weasel,' she said."
[Anchorage Daily News, 10/8/00]
Maybe Palin finally figured out how to solve her dilemma of indecision - pay the taxes on the land, but cap the taxes on improvements at zero. Brilliant!

weasel
Wow again! YOU are quite the Weasel

Picture of  Palin family when Sarah was suppose to be Pregnant with Trig!  Bristol looking just like YOUR daughter!
Then there is the matter of Bristol! Wow she is just like YOUR daughter! Unwed mother of possibly two children (rumor has it) and now making a fortune on her "situation" as a dancer! (Dancing against Palins religion but what the heck, it's paid Bristol a good 200,000 so far right?) Then there's all the speaking engagements where she tells kids to remain abstinent (while she does not) The case of she might be pregnant again and her and Levi moved back in together for short period of time, but her previous boyfriend had to call and ask if she was pregnant? Really sounds like she practices what she preaches...for All that money...Yep, sounds like she is just like YOUR daughter!

Let's not forget Track!  The son who went off to the army to serve his Country! (because it was either that or go to jail!)  Seems that Track got into some trouble from drinking and vandalizing 44 school buses.  Rumor has it that judge told Track...Army or Jail! (Vandalizing seems to be a pattern with the Palin kids but so does the parents buying their way out of it)  By the way for those that don't know, because the Palins have been keeping it quiet while she stumps her "Patriotism"...Track was discharged in Jan. and living at the Wasilla home since.  What, he's out already?  He just went in! Then there is the rumor of him not being Todd Palins son....I guess YOU had an affair as well then?  I mean...aren't we talking about Sarah being just like YOU?

Great read on the Real Sarah Palin and family!

The story of Willow! When YOUR child is a Palin YOU don't pay the piper but the other kids involved do! Read more here!

Yep!  Here is a picture of YOUR daughter being punished for her crime as she travels all over the country with mom and is treated like a celebrity!

What about that book YOU didn't really write? That brought you in a bundle, especially since YOU and your book was promoted by Oprah Winfrey! (A whole other subject that ticks me off)

I especially like the fact that YOU are making a bundle of cash every time you open your mouth to spew hate and ignorance!  YOU are quite a success!  Congratulations!  I could go on and on how Sarah is one of YOU but...why bother...she IS YOU! Right?
