Do you ever get the feeling that Tea Party Republicans see the phrase “Ignorance Is Bliss” as a Mission Statement?

Sarah Palin's Pastor Problems! This Year, This June

Not only was I a former republican but I too was raised Assembly Of God and so I do know a little about the beliefs and practices of the Assembly Of God in which Sarah Palin attended. I am not here to say yea or nay to anyone’s religious beliefs but I will say that I have not been a part of religion for many many years. Although I have attended different churches over the years, I do not myself believe in religion. I have a personal relationship with God and consider myself Spiritual. I don’t believe you have to go to church to find God. Many religions believe you won’t go to heaven if you don’t go to church. That’s fine for them but not me! I do know that people who believe like Sarah Palin are quite capable of doing and making decisions based on their religious beliefs and people should keep that in mind!

  1. You aren't going to get very far putting down Palin's religious beliefs.

Most Americans can relate far more to Palin's pastor than Obama's pastor of the last 20 years.

  2. Brian, personally I don’t believe that “Religion” should even be a part of government. God yes, religion no. The media hammered Obama on his choice of churches and I think that it is only fair to show where Palin is coming from in her beliefs. I know from experience that “some religions” will take over the will of God and his plan by bringing to pass what they conceive as God’s timing. (Self-full filled prophecy) Everyone has the right to hear and decide for themselves and thus the article. I am also very concerned about two people who profess to be Christians and can lie to the country with such ease. It’s one thing to tell a lie, then admit to it and stop the lies. When Palin and McCain continue to lie over and over again then I am going to question their beliefs especially when they themselves have made such a big deal about their moral standards.

  3. I don't know why anyone would be surprised that Palin and McCain lie over and over again. They are both politicians and it would likely be impossible to get elected to a governorship or the Senate without lying. Same goes for Obama and Biden. They have lied just as much if not more than Palin and McCain.

Of course, I think lying to yourself is the worst kind of lie and anyone who is supporting Obama and still thinks they are a Republican is guilty in my opinion.

  4. Brian I do not consider myself a republican anymore. In fact I was raised in a republican family, campaigned for years for the republicans but have never voted until this year. I registered as a democrat. When I first started this blog a long time ago I considered myself a republican. The Republican Party is not what it use to be and I will leave it at that.

That's good. I have respect for other people's views even if I disagree with them as long as people admit where they stand.

My problem is with those who claim to be conservatives, yet support Obama.

So, why don't you change the name of the blog?

  6. Brian it's nice to hear your views and I'm glad you take the time to share them. I did change the name and hadn't done it sooner because for some reason I thought it was a part of my URL. Thank you for the suggestion.
