This is exactly why I left the Republican party and became a Democrat in 2008 and this is exactly why I will stand behind President Obama without wavering.  His intelligence, integrity and calm spirit is a constant and just what the American people need  If you fall for the lies of the "firebaggers" then you might as well join the tea party!  No difference! If anyone tells you to stay home and not vote, or vote uncommitted then they are not on your side! 2010 mid-terms proved that! The only message you will be sending is the message that you are an idiot and will fall for anything!-Mem

It’s tough being a Progressive these days. Hell, it’s tough being an American these days, but I digress. As Progressives, there is a lot we agree upon – We want fair/progressive taxation. We want multinational corporations to bring jobs back to the US. We want universal healthcare. We want a reliable social safety net. We want equal rights for all. We want clean water and safe food. We want an end to the wars. We want the Bush regime to be tried for their crimes. We want banksters and other corporate masters to be held accountable for their sins…perhaps more importantly, we want their money out of our democracy.

Over the years, I've been called a liberal as if it's an insult. I've also been called a libtard, a Dumbocrat, a hippie, a socialist, a tree-hugger, a bleeding heart, a gay-lover, etc. And I've embraced each one. All these were directed at me from people on the right.

Now I find out that I'm an Obamabot. That's someone who defends the current President of the United States, OUR president of OUR country. But this time, it comes from the left.

But President Obama cannot close the Bush-created prison at Guantanamo Bay, or try the remaining detainees still stuck in that island gulag, on his own. Like Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell and the Defense of Marriage Act, Gitmo is a creature of Congress, and only Congress can kill it.

Concerned Democrats or Adult Crybabies ?

Literally, a crybaby is an infant under five years old, who cries when he/she wants something or can't get what he/she wants. Today, there are thousands of adult crybabies (who call themselves Democrats), because they didn't get what they wanted from President Obama. (Although he has achieved more in under two years than Bush did in eight).

Las Vegas -- President Obama greeted progressive activists and liberal bloggers this morning via video message, telling the group during the final full day of Netroots Nation that he gets their frustration that "change hasn't come fast enough."

"I hope you take a moment to consider all we've accomplished so far," Obama said. Then the pre-recorded video showed a segment from MSNBC's Rachel Maddow rattling off the administration's achievements.

Obama promised, "we're not done." He said that the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell is in the works and touted his own plan to draw down 90,000 troops from Iraq.

"We're moving America forward," he said, remarks that he's made many times before. "When we've come this far we can't afford to slide backward ... [to] failed policies that got us into this mess." Read More...
