To Love Thy Neighbor As Thy Self! -Barack Obama

Most of my friends and family members know that I am NOT a religious person and do not follow an organized religion but I AM a spiritual person and have my own personal relationship with God. One of the reason's I left the Republican Party behind and never looked back is because of the profound respect I have for President Obama and his beliefs. His actions and words are those of a person who tries to LIVE the teachings of Christ unlike those who spew hypocrisy and hate using God and Scripture! -Mem

In American politics today, religion has seemed to find its way into the conversation more than it's intended to. Somehow over the years the Republican party has hijacked the Christian faith, the most popular religion in American, and has used the religion when they see the need in order to fit their political ideology. The biggest problem with what the Republican party has done is that the message they praise is not the message they preach.

Update 3-1-2011 I have tried to tell people for YEARS that Billy Graham was a Democrat, only to be called crazy and a liar by the "right wing Christians" and now here it is...out of his own mouth.   How many times has the tea party republicans referred to Democrats as heathens, atheist, the devil? What say you now?  

Couric: I read, though, that you're a Democrat.  Is that true? 

Graham: Yes.  I am.

When the truth is spoken! Will so called Christians of 2012 that support the republican party hear this message? We shall see....I'm thinking not because they have been fed so many lies by the right and succumbed to the fear fed to them by the religious right that they are blinded to the truth.-Mem
